AGI Analyst - Work in Charlottesville, Virginia!

 

Our client, one of the nation’s leading Research and Development organizations, currently has an opening for a AGI Analyst to work in Charlottesville, Virginia. This is the opportunity to lead an elite R&D team in a growing organization.    

 

The successful AGI Analyst candidate will process and exploit  complex AGI data including spectral, thermal, and/or synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data and assist in implementation of spectral AGI capabilities among other duties.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Processes and exploits complex Advanced Geospatial Intelligence (AGI) data including spectral, thermal, and/or synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data.  Applies basic-to-complex non-literal exploitation analysis techniques in the visible (VIS) through shortwave infrared (SWIR) spectral regions, midwave infrared (MWIR), and longwave infrared (LWIR) hyperspectral data.  Reviews and authors Advanced Geospatial Intelligence Reports, Annotated Graphical Products, and other reports/products as required.  Assists in full implementation of spectral AGI capabilities including analysis and production, product timeliness and workflow, technology (equipment and software) acquisition, product development, posting and dissemination, and product applications to the warfighter.  Participates in community-sponsored spectral Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) / AGI working groups and collection exercises.  Plans and executes tasking and production for self and team.  Provides technical guidance and assistance to AGI Analysts and Junior AGI Analysts, in special circumstances leading a small AGI production team focused on a particular customer, target, or region.  Also works as part of such teams under immediate direction of a fellow AGI Analyst, Image Scientist, or Senior Image Scientist. 

 

Qualifications/Experience:

 

Required:

 

·        Required number of years (see Table 1) working in an operational production setting exploiting multi- and hyperspectral data in the GEOINT/AGI domain, including use of software-based exploitation tools such as ITT/Vis ENVI and ERDAS Imagine and applying atmospheric correction and spectral matching algorithms to data.

·        Required number of years (see Table 1) past or current Intelligence Community (IC) experience with national Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), US Air Force National Air and Space Intelligence Center (USAF/NASIC), and/or U.S. Army Intelligence

·        Comprehensive understanding of the phenomenology associated with the VIS through LWIR spectral region and SAR data is required with an emphasis on recent experience exploiting midwave infrared (MWIR) and LWIR hyperspectral data. 

·        Understanding of National and Theater AGI spectral intelligence assets

·        Comprehensive understanding of visible through SWIR airborne and satellite-based spectral collection platforms and collection methods

 

Desired:

 

·        2+ years experience writing IDL programming code toward developing applications that improve image-processing efficiency and algorithms for target detection and identification. IDL programming experience specific to hyperspectral exploitation software a plus.

·        Common Spectral MASINT Exploitation Capability (COSMEC)

·        Remote View

·        SEP/SMSTK

Education/Certifications:

 

Required:

 

·        Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science, Remote Sensing, Geospatial Information Science (GIS), Cartography, or Earth Sciences, or similar B.A. or B.S. with equivalent practical experience in spectral science.  In special cases, commiserate experience shall be accepted in lieu of educational requirements.

 

Desired:

 

·        AGI or related “primer” courses

·        AGI or related processing courses

·        Workshop or geospatial intelligence analytical thinking

·        Requirements management training or at least one year equivalent experience

 

 Clearances:

 

·        TS/SCI Clearance
