We have an immediate opportunity for an Assistant Security Supervisor to join one of the areas most prestigious and best employers (our client is willing to train a highly motivated candidate).
Our client, a not-for-profit Federally Funded Research and Development Center is currently looking an Assistant Security Supervisor for their Maryland based R&D facility. Our Client offers a unique professional environment and an excellent compensation package. Their campus is located in a convenient Maryland suburban location.
The Assistant Security Supervisor directly and indirectly supervises our clients Security Officers in day-to-day activities; ensures that adequate scheduling is maintained, security provisions are followed, proper training is provided, and concerns/problems are resolved. Maintains an active recruiting program. The candidate will also act as the alternate COMSEC custodian, ensuring the proper accountability of keying material and COMSEC equipment. Instructs new alternate custodians on procedures and equipment operations.
The successful candidate reviews and evaluates equipment for security activities; gathers and compares data on concerns such as requirements, usage, availability, and provides recommendations to the Security Manager. Participates in the establishment and revision of physical, personnel, information, industrial and technical security requirements, maintains adherence to all applicable conventional and computer security provisions. Trains the security staff on the alarm system, CCTV system and on security specific software in use by the security force. Coordinates the repair of the alarm and CCTV systems. In addition, the Assistant Security Supervisor ensures compliance with DCID and sponsor policies for computer security, the inventory and control systems of classified documents is effective, and audit trails are conducted by appropriate staff. Recommends modifications based on tests and inspections which will ensure compliance with applicable standards.
To qualify the successful candidate should have a BA degree in law enforcement or related area, or five years experience in a related area. Completion of Sponsor’s Contractor Special Security Officer Course; completion of COMSEC Custodian Training Course provided by National Security Agency. At least three years experience in physical security investigations, and familiarity with DCID security procedures and regulations. At least three years experience with computer security compromises, investigations and handling forensic evidence. The position requires an Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph.
