Java Software Engineers – Develop the New Generation of Training and Simulation Systems!   

We currently have the opportunity for Java Software Engineers to be part of a team developing highly advanced training and simulation systems.  Our client, one of the nation’s premier Research and Development organizations, is the prime developer of a new generation of training and simulation systems to be used throughout the US Navy.  The trainers are designed to be a major advancement in current technology incorporating the latest state of the art in software, graphics and animation systems.

Our client is looking for a mid-level Java Developer and Software Engineer to be part of a team building Java based software for underwater training and tactical applications. Specific responsibilities will include modifying, developing, testing and implementing Web Service, Thin Client and Web Feature Service applications for existing and new systems. The chosen candidate will be responsible for performing software analysis and testing relative to our tactical and training toolsets. This will include determining system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters to meet requirements for hardware and software compatibility. Tasking will include work on problems of diverse scope and responsibility for ensuring project schedules and performance requirements are met. Selected individual may determine methods and procedures to be used on new assignments and provide guidance to junior personnel. Since this position is part of a larger team at the customer site, interpersonal and communication skills are critical.

To qualify, candidates must have Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical field and 5+ years experience in the development of Java applications.  Experience in underwater acoustics, physics, and/or energy propagation through a medium is desired by not required. An Active Secret Clearance is also required.

The position is located in the Bethesda, Maryland. Some travel is required. Our client offers a professional work environment and an outstanding compensation package.
