Software Engineers, Web Developers and Software Testers – A Major Development Effort!
We have been retained by our client, a highly successful technology company, to assist them in staffing a major development project.
The project is a fast-paced, innovative software development effort supporting a customer at Ft. Meade, MD. The software developed on the project supports real-time data processing and collaborative analysis for over 1500 intelligence analysts. The project team is comprised of dedicated technologists who are committed to furthering the mission of national security. Work ethic and mission dedication outweigh technical depth in the evaluation of candidates to support this project.
Our client is looking for the following professionals.
Senior Software Engineers – Java Developers
The Senior Software Engineer (SrSE) will serve as a technical member of a project team and will be responsible for performing supportive middle tier software design and development tasks to include Java EE, Spring, Mule, JDBC, RESTful and SOAP web services, and JDBC. Candidate should have experience using Eclipse, Ant, JUnit, and TestNG.
The Sr. Software Engineer (SSE) shall have the following minimum key skills: · Eight (8) years experience with software design and development · Experience with J2EE Application Servers such as Apache Tomcat or BEA Weblogic Application Server · Experience with XML and XSLT · Experience with web services, including SOAP, UDDI, and WSDL · Experience working on integrated software development projects · Experience developing database applications using JDBC.
Experience desired, although not mandatory: · Experience building Mule based applications · Experience building GIS enabled applications · Experience with commercial Web and GUI development tools · Experience with the StreamBase Stream Processing Engine · Experience with web-based development to include JSPs, Servlets, Javascript, and HTML Web Application Developers
Web Application Development experts to work as part of a project team. This might be you if you know JavaScript, CSS, xHTML, JSP, and Java. But knowing these technologies is not enough; we are looking for individuals who understand that web applications are more than just a collection of technology blocks, that they are carefully crafted tools designed to make using them easy and intuitive, yet infinitely powerful and rewarding.

· Do you know who Tufte, Schneiderman, and Cooper are? · Can you describe what a Closure is and why it’s important? · Can you tell us the difference between inline and block elements? · Do you know when to use a web library (like Prototype, Scriptaculous, ExtJS, jQuery, YUI) and more importantly, when not to? · Can you describe what Flow, Consistency and Feedback are? · Do you believe that creating great experiences is as much an artistic endeavor as it is a programmatic one?
Answer these questions and we definitely want to talk to you. You might just very well be the person we had in mind when we set out to find a Web Application expert. A true individual that is comfortable writing code, designing mockups, brainstorming the future, researching visualization technology, or passionately presenting their ideas of the next big thing.
Software Testers
As a member of a project team, the Software Integration Tester (SWIT) will support the Development Team with all integration, system, and regression testing of software releases and patches. The SWIT will be responsible for working with project developers to create, modify, maintain, and execute software testing plans and documents that adhere to the project and company CMMI standards. The SWIT is expected to work closely with the development team throughout all phases of the development and maintenance process. The SWIT is also expected to work with developers of external partner systems during system testing. The SWIT must be comfortable with working with the customer. Strong oral and written communication skills are required. This position does not require travel.
Requirements: · At least three years of previous software testing experience is required. · Experience using and testing Java applications · Experience testing web applications by hand · Experience testing web applications using Selenium or other web application testing tools · Experience using Ant · Experience using Maven · Experience writing Unix/Linux shell scripts · Experience writing Perl and/or Python scripts · Experience with Linux and Solaris
