Risk Management Systems Engineers – Work in Ft. Belvoir for one of the Areas Top Employers!
We currently have the opportunity for a Risk Management Engineer to work in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia and join one of the areas top employers
Our client is a medium sized business whose mission is to provide top-level decision makers with objective and timely assessments that integrate the technical, operational, programmatic, policy, and business aspects of national security issues. Our client was selected as on of the Top Places to Work in the Washington, DC area for 2008.
The successful candidate will be part of a group that conducts national security analyses that blend technical and policy assessment for a variety of defense and homeland security clients. It also provides direct support to a variety of DoD and DHS customers. Primary responsibilities for this position include: - Development and implementation of systems engineering (SE) efforts for the national Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) Program, including hands-on support to the project teams for each of the five CTR program areas. - Oversight and sustainment of a formal risk management (RM) program for the CTR program - Development of mitigation strategies designed to control and reduce risk - Conduct of required SE and RM training programs in both large classroom and one-on-one settings - Development of plans and proposals for presentation to customers
To qualify, candidates must have 5-7 years experience including systems engineering activity per the Defense Acquisition Guidebook in support of defense acquisition programs. - Practical experience with program risk identification, assessment, mitigation, reporting, training, and implementation, including capturing, tracking, and communicating lessons learned. Previous military service welcomed - Familiarity with DoD and federal requirements associated with the planning and support of major systems acquisition, including pertinent risk management principles - B.S. required/ M.S. preferred in Engineering or related discipline - Exceptional communication and analytic management skills and solid team building skills - Ability to effectively articulate proposals, plans, and products to the customer - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (or equivalent) - Ability to obtain and retain a DoD security clearance is a mandatory condition of employment. Current DoD or equivalent federal security clearance a plus.
In addition, candidates must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Successful candidates will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship required.
