Software Engineers – Learn or Enhance your Ruby/Ruby on Rails Development Skills!  

We have the opportunity for Software Developers to either enhance their development skills in, or learn, Ruby/Ruby on Rails. Our client is looking for the following Software Development professionals:

Feed Integration Specialists

Successful candidates will function as team members of an AGILE project where requirements are gathered and analyzed. Strong knowledge in a VCS tool is needed along with knowledge in *nix environments for development and deployment activities.

This position requires knowledge in XSLT, HTML, XSD. It will require the candidate to be able to assist with the decisions of the type of web service chosen for the problem which will require the understanding of REST, SOAP, ATOP, RSS, etc. Experience with document parsing and/or document parsing tools is required to generate data structures out of unformatted data.

Some Ruby/Ruby on Rails experience is desired, but not required.

Midpoint Development Specialists

Successful candidates will function as team members of an AGILE project where requirements are gathered and analyzed. Strong knowledge in a VCS tool is needed along with knowledge in *nix environments for development and deployment activities.

Candidate must have extensive knowledge in the Ruby programming language. Experience in other programming languages such as Smalltalk, Python, Perl, Java, or C# is desired. Knowledge of architecting for scalability and high availability is desired. Cloud computing knowledge is a definite plus. Experience developing against and/or administering a database system is crucial for developing on this team.

Web Service Delivery Specialists

Successful candidates will function as team members of an AGILE project where requirements are gathered and analyzed. Strong knowledge in a VCS tool is needed along with knowledge in *nix environments for development and deployment activities.

This position requires web development experience using Ruby on Rails, PHP, JSP, ASP.NET, etc. Knowledge of the full web stack is a must. The ability to develop and consume REST and SOAP based web services is required for the position. Experience with Apache Axis and .NET web services is also required for this position.

All positions require an active Top Secret/SCI Clearance and are located in the Columbia, Maryland area.
