Java/Hadoop Developers – Join a Select Research and Development Team! 

We have the opportunity for a Java Developer to work on a research based development team that supports "Big Data" transfer and flows. The team’s challenge is to harness hundreds of thousands of processors to mine massive amounts of data? This is the opportunity to work with fellow Java developers with backgrounds in High Performance Computing. To work with some of the "rock stars" of our industry on a a leading edge development team charged to create software solutions using the open source Hadoop platform. They are agile; they care about best practices, Design Patterns, and continuous testing and integration using automated software development tools.

The successful candidate will   

§         Develop applications to solve our client’s customers "big data" problems, using Java and Hadoop

§         Develop algorithms to operate on large volumes of operational data, in the hundreds of petabytes, presents many challenges and offers the greatest potential for discovering patterns and anomalies.

§         Investigate advanced parallel programming techniques for implementing analytics that can effectively run on petabyte-scale operational data sets.

§         Work in an agile environment with our customers to develop requirements, build applications that implement analytic tools to process enormous data sets, and iteratively improve the resulting software systems to further the customer mission.

§         Develop data ingest code to import new data feed into Cloudbase.

To qualify, candidates must have

5 years+ experience doing software development (Java/J2EE)

2+ years of algorithm development

Strong skills in debugging, performance measurement and tuning

Strong Linux and CS skills required.

Hadoop experience (highly desired)

Be comfortable working in a research environment

Top Secret/SCI Clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph.
