Software Engineers – Work on the Scientific Computing Network!
Opportunity for Software Engineers to join one of the nation’s leading R&D organizations and be part of a select team which focuses on the Scientific Computing Network, a world-class heterogeneous network that supports advanced scientific analysis, including Weapons System analysis, Imagery and GIS analysis, and advanced Modeling and Simulation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and development of analytical tools and web applications within the Intelligence Community.
· Work in a team on one or more web and system applications. Identify requirements, architect and design the solution, schedule releases, work directly with testers, customers, and security. · Work with (and without) supervision to find solutions to difficult problems. · Architect and build new applications and migrate older web applications to the latest standards. · Exchange information about specific designs and development with other team members. · Frequent problem solving and troubleshooting of issues. Typical issues include software development constraints such as browser capabilities, media types, platform differences, and operating systems. · The position will frequently require the individual to self-manage and balance efforts over multiple projects. The individual will be required to maintain attention to detail, preserve quality standards, and adhere to standards. · Assistance with internal R&D projects and exploring the use of emerging technologies will be an integral part of the work.
To qualify, candidate must have a Bachelors Degree (Master’s preferred) and 7-10+ years experience plus a Top Secret/SCI Clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph.
The position is in Reston, Virginia.
